Inspired by Gospel values, theSociety of St. Vincent de Paul, aCatholic
lay organization, leadswomen and men to join together to grow spiritually by offeringperson-to-person service tothose who are needy andsuffering in the tradition of itsfounder, Blessed FrédéricOzanam, and patron, St. Vincentde Paul.
As a reflection of the wholefamily of God, Members, who areknown as Vincentians, are drawnfrom every ethnic and culturalbackground, age group, andeconomic level. Vincentians areunited in an international societyof charity by their spirit ofpoverty, humility and sharing,which is nourished by prayerand reflection, mutuallysupportive gatherings andadherence to a basic Rule.
Organized locally, Vincentianswitness God's love by embracingall works of charity and justice.The Society collaborates withother people of good will inrelieving need and addressingits causes, making no distinctionin those served because, inthem, Vincentians see the faceof Christ.

Who We Are
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is an international non-profit organization dedicated to serving the poor and providing others with the opportunity to serve. The Tacoma Council has been assisting in Tacoma-Pierce county area since 1926. Programs include services for the homeless, thrift stores, and general assistance for individuals in need.
